SOFTWARE ENGINEERING

Based on the systems development process, SILVER ATENA has established a software development process which meets the rigorous safety standards of the automotive (IEC 61508) aerospace (RTCA DO-178B) and railway (EN 50128) industries. This process covers the entire software lifecycle for new developments as well as for maintenance and upgrades of software. SILVER ATENA takes over entire software projects starting with the software requirements and finishing with the validated software as well as conducting single development phases e.g. software coding or software verification. Depending on the project the process follows different development approaches, e.g. V lifecycle and rapid prototyping.

SILVER ATENA is a European leader in automatic code generation within model-based software development. With a tool environment based on dSPACE TargetLink, SILVER ATENA is able to generate software code of the highest criticality levels (IEC 61508-SIL3 and/or RTCA DO-178B-DAL A) from MATLAB/Simulink. Up to 85 percent of the entire software can thus be developed by the model-based approach. Other features of the tool environment include: compliance with the encoding guidelines, automatic standardised documentation and calibration data with additional information.
