Active Chassis System
What is an active chassis system?
The active suspension system is a high-precision chassis system that optimizes shock absorber behavior in real time. It ensures maximum comfort on uneven roads and improves traction in every driving situation.
Designed for 48-V, 400-V or 800-V electrical systems, the electronic control unit (ECU) controls an electric motor-pump unit for highly dynamic damping adjustment at each wheel.
Features
The active damper system provides proactive, precise, and individual control of the damper behavior at each wheel, thereby increasing comfort and driving stability.
- Active damping control: optimization of shock absorption at each wheel in real time based on road conditions and driving maneuvers.
- Integration into high-voltage electrical systems: adaptable to 400V and 800V electrical systems with exceptional performance for maximum flexibility.
- Safety and redundancy: integration into safety architectures according to ISO 26262 for functional safety with redundant power supply and active short-circuit protection.
- Compact design: highly efficient integration into existing chassis platforms for premium and volume vehicles.
Applications
- Semi-active chassis
- Fully active chassis

Application areas
- Sports cars: increased cornering stability and precise vehicle control
- SUVs & off-road vehicles: improved traction and stability on uneven terrain
- Electric and hybrid vehicles: adaptive chassis control for greater comfort and safety
- Autonomous vehicles: vehicle stabilization to prevent motion sickness
Advantages
Shocks and vibrations are minimized through highly dynamic adjustment of the damper behavior. Individual damping adjustment to varying road conditions increases road grip and thus traction.
By reducing roll and pitch movements, driving dynamics are improved in fast corners or during braking, and the more stable vehicle position helps prevent motion sickness.
