Silver Atena awarded the ENX VCS label once again

Renewed recognition confirms a high level of maturity in vehicle cybersecurity

Silver Atena has once again been successfully assessed according to the ENX Vehicle Cybersecurity (ENX VCS) standard. The company was already among the first five worldwide to receive this certification in 2023. The current recertification confirms its continuous development and high level of maturity in Vehicle Cybersecurity.

The assessment demonstrates the effectiveness of the cybersecurity management system in accordance with ISO/SAE 21434, as well as the consistent integration of cybersecurity into development and production processes for automotive systems. This ensures that security requirements are not only defined conceptually but are demonstrably implemented throughout the entire product lifecycle.

During the recertification, particular emphasis was placed on the systematic integration of cybersecurity into existing project structures. This includes the further development of Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) as a core element of the cybersecurity management system, as well as the integration of cybersecurity-related aspects into the V-model. A key focus was on evidence of practical implementation, for example through validation artefacts such as penetration test reports.

“Silver Atena has made significant progress in Vehicle Cybersecurity in recent years, effectively integrating it into existing project management structures,” explains Christopher Helbig, auditor at DEKRA. “What is decisive is proof of implementation – here, the company demonstrated strong capabilities, including through well-founded penetration testing.”

The ENX VCS standard follows a holistic approach, covering not only product development but also areas such as vulnerability management, software updates and supply chain security. For customers, the label provides an independent and reliable proof of a structured and high level of cybersecurity across the entire value chain.

Internally, the certification also creates measurable value: it supports Silver Atena in continuously improving processes, establishing best practices and embedding cybersecurity across projects and the organisation. This strengthens the quality, safety and long-term robustness of the systems developed.

The recertification confirms that, at Silver Atena, cybersecurity is not treated as an additional measure, but as an integral part of system development – from initial analysis through to validated implementation in the product.
